Portrait of a middle-aged man (Mike Davis) with a beard and short hair, smiling slightly, against a textured, speckled background.

I’m Mike Davis—founder, creative lead, brand strategist, and barista here at ThreadMark.

After two decades in creative leadership, content strategy, and brand development—mainly in the nonprofit, education, and start-up world—I started ThreadMark to help organizations build brands that actually say something. Brands that connect. Brands that feel like you, only a you that follows all the rules of design.

I’ve led teams of designers, writers, producers, and strategists. I’ve built brand platforms from the ground up, revived ones that lost their way, and helped leaders articulate the thing they’ve been trying to say for years—but couldn’t quite put into words.

Thread Mark is how I bring all that experience to new clients and causes. And while I’m technically a team of one (at the moment), I’ve got a trusted circle of wildly talented collaborators—writers, designers, developers, animators—who come alongside me when the work calls for it. I build the right team for the job. You still get the same strategic brain, high standards, and well-timed jokes.

Fun facts, because why not:

  • I love brands that don’t take themselves too seriously (but still get taken seriously).

  • I believe a good brand is like a good book: clear, layered, and a little surprising.

  • And, while we’re talking about books, I always judge them by their cover. I get what the metaphor is trying to say—but in reality, it’s actually a pretty good method of selection.

  • I live in Atlanta with two kids, a godsend of a wife, a perfectly reasonable amount of cats (3), and at least three projects in motion at any time.

I’ve led creative and content strategy across digital, marketing, and brand systems — from multi-channel campaigns to learning platforms and leadership experiences. Over 15+ years later, I still love turning complex ideas into something people actually understand.
