BRAND DEVELOPMENT

Good work that doesn't look the part still gets overlooked.

There's a version of your business that people trust and understand before you say a word.
Brand Development gets you there.

Trusted by leaders who value clarity.

Strong in the room.
Not on the page . . . yet.

When the brand doesn't match the work, you pay a credibility tax on every deal, every hire, every introduction. You don't look like you're up to the work. You don't seem to stand for anything. You spend your time trying to explain what it is you even do.

Prospects hesitate.

The work doesn't change. But neither does the tax you’re paying — until the brand catches up.

When the brand isn't clear:

  • Sales calls start too far back — you spend time explaining instead of selling

  • Team members hesitate when someone asks what you do

  • You lose deals to competitors who aren't actually better — they just look more credible

  • Marketing spend goes to tactics without a clear story behind them

  • Every new hire learns the brand differently

When the brand is clear, everything downstream gets easier: faster trust, shorter cycles, a team that executes with confidence.

What is Brand Development?

This is a comprehensive strategic and creative engagement that builds or strengthens the foundation of your business. Not a redesign. Not a messaging exercise. The full system — so strategy, identity, and execution are all pulling in the same direction.

Three things we build and own:

1. Brand Strategy & Positioning

We find the real constraint first — what's off in the message, the story, or the market position — before we build anything new. That means positioning that actually differentiates, messaging architecture your team can repeat, and an audience definition tight enough to use.

  • Brand audit (existing brands)

  • Competitive landscape analysis

  • Positioning and differentiation strategy

  • Audience definition and segmentation

  • Core messaging and narrative framework

2. Brand Identity & Standards

A visual and verbal identity that carries the weight of your work. Built to be ownable, scalable, and professional on sight.

  • Visual identity system (logo, brand mark, color, typography, imagery)

  • Voice, tone, and language guidelines

  • Comprehensive brand standards and usage guide

3. Brand Implementation

Strategy without execution is just a plan. We build the assets and systems that put the brand into use immediately.

  • Website design and development

  • Sales and marketing collateral (pitch decks, one-pagers, case studies)

  • Digital templates (email signatures, social assets, presentation decks)

  • Internal brand training and rollout support

What changes after Brand Development?

  • People understand you faster. The message lands in seconds, not after a five-minute explanation.

  • Your team speaks with one voice. No more inconsistent pitches or hesitation when someone asks "what do you do?"

  • You compete on value, not price. Strong positioning signals credibility and staying power.

  • Execution gets simpler. New hires onboard faster. Campaigns stay on-brand. Everything compounds instead of fragments.

  • The work carries weight. Your brand matches the caliber of what you actually do — and people feel it immediately.

How It Works (Process)

  • Stakeholder interviews and internal alignment workshops

  • Brand audit (if applicable) and competitive landscape analysis

  • Audience research and segmentation

  • Brand strategy development: positioning, differentiation, messaging architecture

  • Strategic presentation and alignment

  • Visual identity exploration: logo concepts, brand marks, and design directions

  • Refinement and finalization of visual system (color, typography, imagery)

  • Voice and tone definition

  • Brand guidelines and standards documentation

Phase 3: Implementation & Rollout (Weeks 10–15)

  • Website design, copywriting, and development

  • Sales collateral design (pitch deck, one-pagers, case studies)

  • Internal brand training and rollout support

Phase 4: Launch & Handoff (Week 16)

  • Final revisions and approvals

  • Brand asset handoff and file organization

Who is this for?

New businesses and launches

  • You're launching and need a brand that establishes credibility from day one

  • You've been operating with a DIY or placeholder brand and you're ready to professionalize

  • You're spinning out, merging, or rebranding and need to get the story right

Existing businesses ready to evolve

  • Your brand feels scattered, outdated, or misaligned with who you've become

  • You've shifted focus, added services, or entered new markets — and the brand hasn't kept pace

  • You're losing deals to competitors who simply look more established

You're a fit if:

  • You want a strategic foundation — not just a cosmetic refresh

  • You need both strategy and execution, not recommendations without delivery

  • You're ready to collaborate and make decisions — this is a partnership, not a handoff

Investment

Pricing is customized based on scope but typically ranges from:

$8,000 – $30,000+

Factors that affect pricing:

  • Starting point – Building from scratch vs. evolving an existing brand

  • Scope of strategy work – Brand audit, competitive research, audience segmentation

  • Depth of identity work – Full visual system vs. refinement of existing assets

  • Implementation scale – Website complexity, collateral volume, template needs

  • Timeline and urgency – Accelerated timelines require adjusted scope and capacity

Frequently Asked Questions

  • A "rebrand" often implies you're starting over and erasing the past. Brand Development is broader—it includes building a brand from scratch or strategically evolving what already exists. We preserve what's working and fix what's not.

  • Maybe. If your logo has equity and still works strategically, we can refine it. If it's holding you back, we'll redesign it. Strategy drives the decision, not sentiment.

  • Perfect. Brand Development is built for that. We'll start from the ground up: strategy, positioning, identity, messaging, and implementation.

  • We can customize the scope. If you only need strategic work (positioning, messaging, audit) without a visual redesign, we can do that. Pricing adjusts accordingly.

  • I don't recommend it. A logo without strategy is decoration, not brand development. But if you've recently completed brand strategy work elsewhere and just need identity execution, we can discuss it.

  • Typically 10–16 weeks, depending on scope and decision-making speed. We'll set a clear timeline during the proposal phase.

  • I write it. Messaging and copywriting are part of the engagement.

  • Primarily Webflow (included in scope). If you need WordPress, Squarespace, Shopify, or another CMS, we can discuss options and any development partnerships required.

  • Yes. I can lead strategy and creative direction while collaborating with your internal designers, developers, or agency partners.

  • Start with a Clarity Sprint ($3,500). We'll audit where you are, diagnose what's stuck, and recommend the right next step—whether that's full Brand Development or something more targeted. The $3,500 applies toward Brand Development if you move forward within six months.

  • I've worked with nonprofits, professional services, creative startups, and mission-driven businesses. If clarity, differentiation, and strategic storytelling matter to your business, we're likely a fit.

  • You own everything—strategy docs, brand files, guidelines, website, templates. I'll provide training for your team and offer post-launch support. If you want ongoing partnership, we can discuss Fractional Leadership or a Design Subscription engagement.
